Last weekend Dave attended the MOPACA Invitational Alpaca Show in Kansas City, Missouri. I was unable to attend but my prayers and thoughts were with him as well as the nine alpacas he took to the show. The alpaca shows keep getting tougher and tougher so we were very happy with all of our alpacas that placed.
Walnut Creek Antonio was our top alpaca superstar. He won a blue ribbon in the light brown juvenile halter class plus he went on to win Reserve Color Champion! Antonio’s mom is full sister to our amazing 8x Champion Classic Peruvian Magic and his dad is another Champion sire, BF Riccardo.
Our Reserve Color Champion in brown halter from the last show, BF Toscanini, was moved to the wrong class. They placed him in dark fawn. He did not show well in that class. He’s light brown not dark fawn so I was not happy that they moved him. Oh well it happens that way sometimes at the shows.
We had 3 alpacas win 2nd place. Benvenuti’s Puccini took 2nd he is a beige adult. Masterpiece Rockefeller took second in light fawn halter, and BF Scarlett placed 2nd in dark fawn juvenile halter for her first show!
Walnut Creek Jasmine took 3rd in her class once again. BF Rhett placed 4th in white juvenile halter which was a very large and very difficult class for his first show. Last but not least, our little one, Masterpiece Jessica placed 5th in medium fawn, again a very difficult class.
We’re proud of all of our alpacas… they all did a great job at the show! For more information on the alpaca show in Kansas City visit MOPACA Association website.
